Nose: The nose starts off with a mix of cherries, which is then softened by a good influence of pepper. The sweetness of the cherry notes is followed by a taste of sweet tea. The summers in Georgia is prevalentas this bottle screams oak and honey. The aging of the whiskey in the Georgia heat works miracles.
Palate: Initially, the palate matches the nose perfectly. Hidden deep in the background is a note of burnt orange peels.
Finish: This is a sweet, spicy, yet robust pour. At 123.43, it sips right at its proof point. The finish is long, succulent and the strong pepper notes that was captured in the nose and palate is sandwiched in between layers of sweetness. This will be a fan favorite for the Bourbon Judge community.
Description: Our selection is a bourbon finished in a Sakura Wood Cask (Japanese Cherry Wood). This finish is new to 13th Colony. It is truly an amazing selection that the entire team loved.
