Xavier makes this superb wine from a small .85-hectare parcel called Clos-des-Chenes. Volnay is located between Monthelie, Meursault and Pommard. The vineyard is located on top of the hill of the small village of Volnay. This deep red has a distinct limestone character and 50% of the fruit is aged in oak.
